The end of an era (the Season - not the business!)
But I made you look didn't I ;)
As we near the start of Winter here in Australia, I have begun to wind things back a little bit here at Ocean Eyes Swim headquarters.
I have often closed down the shop during the Winter months so I could focus on building the next season's collection and smash out some uni.
I graduated last month so I no longer have that distraction; as such I've decided to keep the shop open all year!
I've enabled worldwide shipping recently also, good news for my international babes that are heading into their summer months!
While we may not be closing up shop this Winter season, things expectedly will go a little bit quiet(ish) as I use this time to begin the design of the next collection and take some business (and personal) admin.
I have talked about it a little bit on my social media, but I have already selected the hero print for Summer 23/24, and I aim to launch it in September 2023 - just in time for the Winter to end and the Sun to start showing its face again!
And because it's always nice to have something to look forward to, I'll share it again now.
ISNT SHE BEAUTIFUL!
This is a custom fabric I've had printed so you absolutely will not find it on any other swimmies - she is an Ocean Eyes Swim exclusive!
This is the first time I've done this, in the past I've purchased fabric that anyone can also access from mainstream Aussie retailers. But I promised myself this year, my 5th Summer in business, that the level up was going to be epic with the launch of this new season.
And so, I will come back with something original, something I've never done before and make you (and myself) proud! I can already visualise the glow up video for my socials that shows my first year of operation to now...cue inspirational and trending social media song.
I have some amazing new ideas that I am currently toying with.
I'm stuck between hand sewing everything myself as I've always done or have some pieces professionally manufactured. I'm undecided at this stage of the game and hand sewing them will require me to level up my sewing skills yet again; think underwire, think non-reversible - all unfamiliar territory).
However, I do already have some of the custom fabric already on its way to me so I will produce some samples myself to see how I feel about them before I make any decisions. Feel free to let me know what you think - your opinions matter to me more than anything.
Some of you may also be aware that I am in the middle of designing a charity collection with the intention of raising funds for the Dolphin Project (read about it here). I am waiting for feedback from their PR department before I proceed with that, however. I am currently crowdfunding to raise the small amount of money required to purchase the charity fabric so please, if you want to contribute to the release of dolphins from captive tanks and support the work of the Dolphin Project, please donate. Anything you can spare will help.
That's all from me today loves, drop me a line with your thoughts at oceaneyesdigital@gmail.com or hit me up on my socials.
Bo :)
