The Bokinii Story

Hi, I’m Bo-Tarah Rose, founder of Bokinii — formerly known as Ocean Eyes Swim.

Bokinii was born on Adelaide’s coastline from a desire to create swimwear that felt different — silhouettes designed to celebrate women, not confine them. After years of seeing the same cookie-cutter fits repeated across the industry, I began sewing bikinis in my living room, determined to design pieces that honoured the female form rather than forcing women to fit into it.

Today, Bokinii creates elevated swimwear designed for women who stand at the peak of their own mountain — cheering for themselves and for others climbing theirs.

Each piece is thoughtfully designed and handmade on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula. Our approach is intentionally small-batch, reducing waste associated with mass production and honouring our responsibility to protect our Earth and oceans.

At its core, Bokinii is about empowerment. We champion real women — not airbrushed ideals. From the beginning, our campaigns have featured everyday women from our community, because representation matters. Confidence is not reserved for models. It belongs to every woman.

Bokinii exists to create swimwear that feels powerful, feminine and unapologetically bold — pieces that allow women to feel strong in their own skin and aligned with their true energy.
